Insight 2 Design is a unique outdoor products company with big industry influence and market share. We invent, innovate, design, manufacture and market outdoor products for some of the world’s largest outdoor brands.

Due to rapid growth, we moved into a brand new, state of the art building in June 2019 located on Antioch and 137th Street.  This building is intentionally located next to a running trail, several coffee shops, gyms, the woods, a park and many restaurants. 

Our team is passionate about creating intuitive outdoor products consumers want, in a fast-paced casual dress work environment - we are an outdoor products company after all!

Position Description


Job Title / Type: Product Manager / Full Time

Location: Located in Overland Park, KS

Position: The Product Manager will be an integral part of the Product management team and has responsibility for the overall direction and development of assigned product category/categories.  The Product Manager interacts directly with design, engineering, sales and finance to grow and innovate in the category.

Direct Supervisor: Director of Product Development


  • Own the new product development cycle and identify new product opportunities.

  • Interact directly with customers and senior level management.

  • Manage all product-marketing activities including new product development, pricing, packaging, line maintenance and promotions to optimize category profit and growth.

  • Approve assigned elements of product line launches including product specifications, packaging, promotions and merchandising collateral.

  • Actively support product presentations to key customers.

  • Research existing market conditions and conduct feasibility studies to determine market demand for existing and new products.

  • Identify new product opportunities and develop specific new product objectives to research.

  • Prepare and present business plans to justify new product opportunities and lead cross-functional teams through the new product development cycle.

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape both domestic and globally to include competitive pricing, features and specifications.

  • Own pricing strategy and ensure competitive product positioning within each channel.

  • Work closely with marketing, sales, operations, and legal in the development of marketing plans.

  • Assist in consumer events, trade shows, store associate training workshops and other off-site business development activities.

  • Efficient multi-tasker with ability to manage several projects concurrently

  • Ability to work with different personality types ranging from long boarders to business professionals

  • Intellectually curious including ability to listen and learn new concepts, learn from others as well as learn by doing, and learn software quickly



In order to perform the responsibilities of this positions, candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • Legal authorization to work in the US

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Marketing/Product Management

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or Engineering

  • Experience with consumer goods

  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • The willingness and ability to travel to perform the essential duties of this position.  Some travel may be international.
